Dental Implants Deliver Unrivaled Durability, Longevity and Function

An attractive smile is often the first thing that people notice, and as such, it can significantly impact your self-esteem and confidence. If you have missing or damaged teeth, it can be challenging to feel positive about your smile, which affects various facets of your life. Fortunately, dental implants are an excellent solution for most adults struggling with tooth loss or failing teeth who wish to improve their oral health and well-being.

Dental implants are a permanent option to replace missing or damaged teeth, correct bite problems, and restore smile aesthetics and functionality. They provide unrivaled durability, longevity, and function. At Miami-Dade Dental Specialties, we love restoring patients’ smiles and lives with top-quality dental implants from BioHorizons®, Neodent®, and Dentium and sophisticated in-house technology. If you’re uncomfortable coping with the many consequences of missing teeth or tired of living with ill-fitting dentures, affordable dental implants in Miami, FL, provide benefits that can’t be overstated.

What are Dental Implants?

The three-part dental implant consists of a biocompatible titanium post surgically placed in your jawbone, an abutment connector, and a natural-looking zirconia prosthesis. The three components work together to restore 99% of dental function. The implant has screw-like grooves on its surface that help keep it firmly in place. After the implant integrates with your underlying bone, it assumes the role of the natural tooth root, providing a secure and stable foundation for the prosthesis.

Dental implants prevent bone loss and stimulate new growth like natural tooth roots. They distribute bite force evenly across the implant and the surrounding bone for a balanced, healthy bite. When placed by an experienced implant dentist such as Dr. Tamara Martinez, dental implants have a success rate as high as 99%. With proper oral hygiene and professional dental care, implants can last many decades or even a lifetime.

Versatile Dental Implants Provide a Lifetime of Benefits

Dental implants in Miami, FL, offer unsurpassed versatility because they can replace a single tooth, many teeth, an upper or lower arch, or both. Full mouth dental implants are a great option for extensive tooth loss.

Single Dental Implants

Single-tooth dental implants are permanent fixtures rooted in the jawbone to replace one severely decayed or missing tooth. We only use top-rated dental implants and offer the latest implant innovation from Neodent. Acqua® dental implants accelerate bone-to-implant contact, reducing the fusion process to as little as two months.

implant supported bridge

Implant Supported Bridges

A dental bridge is a tooth replacement option that relies on one or more false teeth connected to crowned adjacent natural teeth to support it, literally ‘bridging gaps’ created by one or more missing teeth. One of the biggest advantages of an implant-supported bridge is that it eliminates the need to alter healthy teeth. The zirconia dental bridge is attached to abutment posts with a specialized dental compound that secures and enables it to blend in with your other teeth.

Implant Supported Dentures

Removable implant-supported dentures are like traditional dentures but offer greater functionality and stability. They also eliminate the need for messy adhesives and prevent bone deterioration. The overdenture is attached to implants with a ball, bar, magnet, or locator attachment system. Each system has pros and cons that Dr. Martinez will discuss with you if you consider a removable implant-supported denture.

Smile FIX Full Mouth Dental Implants

At MYDDS, we offer Smile FIX full mouth dental implants, a fully customized solution based on the All-on-X treatment concept. The All-on-X protocol allows Dr. Martinez to place more than four implants per arch in patients who need added stability. Tilting the posterior (back) dental implants at a 45-degree angle frequently prevents the need for bone grafting. This cost-efficient solution provides a temporary fixed full-arch prosthesis on the same day as surgery. Full mouth dental implants restore 99% of biting and chewing power, enabling you to enjoy all the foods you love without limitations.

Our Personalized Dental Implant Process

1

Consultation and Planning

Your journey to a restored smile starts with a consultation with Dr. Martinez to assess if you’re a good candidate for dental implants in Miami, FL. During your initial visit, we perform an oral exam and use cone-beam computed tomography to analyze your bone structure, nerves, and sinus cavities. If it’s determined that the underlying bone is inadequate, we may recommend bone grafting to ensure an optimal outcome.

2

The Procedure

After sedation takes effect, Dr. Martinez makes small incisions in your gum tissue. The implant posts are placed in predetermined sites in your jawbone using sophisticated digital guidance. Your gums are sutured in place, and the healing process starts. We’ll provide postsurgical aftercare instructions to ensure recovery progresses as it should. Pain is a natural part of the healing process and is typically alleviated with over-the-counter pain medication or a prescription painkiller if you need stronger relief.

3

Healing and Final Restorations

While the healing process differs from person to person, it typically takes three to six months for gums to heal completely and the titanium post to fuse with your jawbone. After healing, the customized crown, bridge, denture, or full mouth prosthesis is attached to the implant abutments. As long as you visit MYDDS for scheduled maintenance, we offer a one-year warranty on dental implants.
